Cover Art
The first proof has come through for the cover art and I must admit I am blown away. It is really thought out. It captures a lot of the book all into one seamless display. I only have it in a pdf so I will have to put it on google docs and create a link.

The Proof Has Arrived
I must admit that is was pretty exciting opening the box and seeing Mermentau in book form instead of on the computer screen. Now it is time to get back to work. We have to make sure it flows and that the layout presents itself as intended. Using createspace publish has been a pretty seamless experience. If anyone has interest in using them and has any questions, just let me know.

The Proof has been Ordered
The proof for Mermentau: Seal of the Forgotten has been ordered and shipped. I can't wait to be able to hold it in my hands. Once I receive it...it is back to editing. A few people will have a look at it to try and catch any last errors. There is a lot of pressure to make sure that every aspect of the book is the way it is intended to be for the reader. We are really hoping for an April release, but everything has to come together for that to happen.

There is Light at the end of the Tunnel
As you can see it has been a long time since my last post. Somehow life weasels its way into projects we want to finish. Finally the end is in sight. Mermentau has been formatted on the interior and the next step is the cover. Once those two items are put together and I sign off on the proof, it is go time.
I will keep everyone posted through the Facebook fan page. There is no doubt we will be having a book release party. The book will be available at the party for a discounted price. This is probably still two months away, but I am very excited.
Initially the book will be available through Amazon, Create Space, and to book stores and educational institution by request (basically it can be ordered). Within a few weeks after being available in print, it should be available on Kindle, Nook, and iBooks.
I am publishing through Amazon which is awesome. The one difference with Amazon vs. other major publishers is that it is an independent format. That means it is up to me and my fans to spread the word.

Back at it!
I took a break from writing and editing for a while. I have not touched Mermentau for about 2 months. I will get ready to dive back in starting in January (December is too Crazy). During the break, my creative ADD could not remain stagnant so I started making jewelry. I am kind of a mess that way. The good thing is I truly believe as I dive back into the story it is going to improve drastically. I hope to finish this review by the end of February and then it will be time to start sending the query letters to the world of agents.
If you are wondering where the preview of the manuscript went, I just felt that I really didn't want it out there until it is good and ready.

Reading Aloud
This has proven to be a huge benefit in the progress of the book. I had read the book aloud, but I did it in chunks and not from beginning to end. Not to mention I was the one readin,g so my mind was passing over a lot of mistakes. Over the weekend my wife started reading the book to me. It has been awesome. I am excited at the improvements that I have already made in the first 155 pages. Each time I go through the book, it gets a little better and a little better. I have even updated the first five chapters again, and I posted the latest yesterday. Please add any comments as you read the book. Or if you have questions, feel free to ask.
